Yesterday I fired up the compressor and used the last of the top paint to cover over the sealer after masking and giving a first a coat of primer.
I had some paint left so I went over the main parts of the engine bay again and I came up even better.
I'm quite comfortable now that when it comes time to paint the whole car I will be able to get a nice finish on the surface.
I bought some silver wheel enamel paint today to spray the wheels and I'll do that on Wednesday.
It won't be long now and I'll be in full reassemble mode.
I also took the tyres to Goodyear tyre service at Erina and spoke to a fellow there about the tyres.
When I replaced the tyres on the Patrol I mentioned that I had these 'new' old tyres and he suggested I show them to him. Well, he seemed OK about them, given that it would be in his interests to suggest I buy new ones. I'm happy that he has given them the OK as long as I monitor their condition regularly.
