Worked on the 3 little gauges today and they all worked out well.
Started to think about assembling the dash and putting it in the car and came to the revelation that all my reservations about modifying my dash were pointless because it appears that the dash had already been modified by a PO.
The ammeter is an addition, it seems. There should be a plug filling a switch hole that's used for the OD switch.
Should have twigged before.
Anyway, I'm not happy about putting the ammeter back there as it requires big 'sparky' type cables to it and I'm uncomfortable with that going behind the dash. A fire waiting to happen.
I'm thinking about a volt meter to go there instead.
That explains why the ammeter has a different chrome ring to the others.
