This is the main event recently. I took off the front suspension. I kept the steering on the unit, disconnecting the steering column at the u joint. The raising of the car to the height of the stand was a bit hair raising but worked OK. I ran a chain down through the gear stick hole around a sleeper which I positioned across the car just in front of the jacking points. Using the winch to the RSJ above, I assembled the stand on the front and back pivots but to the side. Winched the whole unit up with David steadying and helping lift the rear. When the car was high enough I swung the stand in under and lowered the car back down. PHEW!
A high risk venture but went OK.
