Spent today on the car (again) and found that I had some success with removing the goop that is on the floors. Heat gun, 1" paint scraper to remove as much as possible. The remaining does come off if I flood it with thinners, scrub with a brush and wipe with rags.
It uses a lot of thinners but it does get it off.
I fear I may have wasted my time yesterday with the welding in of the patch. After scrubbing the floor and wire brushing, I can see that a larger area is peppered with pin holes. The area is still quite solid but I'm not going to try to weld each hole. If I hadn't spent yesterday welding, I would have considered replacing the whole floor, but I don't think that is necessary. I'm going to get some silver POR15 and paint both sides with it - the silver apparently has some filling qualities - then over paint the underside gray, to match the rest. I may leave the inside siver.
The whole process of the cleaning the underside is starting to get me down a bit.
Tomorrow I'm going to see if I can find some cheap thinner to speed up the cleaning.
The rotisserie is working well.
