congrats, I plan on doing the same thing in the future. Don't let the naysayers get on your nerves. It's your car, make it like you want it. I do.

A way to affirm the clearance is to remove the wheel on the offending side. Then jack that side of the axle as high as you can. You should be able to rise that side to the stop. In doing so you can confirm that you have gained the clearance needed.

Chris,I just had another look at your clearance issue. The brake hose looks vulnerable. I had a similar issue and ended up rerouting the hose.

Charles, the clearance on the hose is ok. The pic is a little misleading. It's the bolt head that I'm pointing to that just hits.At this stage I'm putting up with it - it only hits if I've got 2 in the car and I bottom on a left hand bend and there's a dip in the road. Unfortunately the first corner from my place is just that. I just take it easy on that bend. You made mention of a additional buffer on the axle pedestal elsewhere. I think I'll try that, but I'll make my own.

Chris,My calipers are to the rear of the axle housing. I realize the scarebird have the caliper to the front. I had a touching issue on my DIY conversion. What I did was bend the flange over where the caliper made contact. Tha got me enough clearance. In addition I added the bump stop to the yop of the axle. That just may get the clearance you need.BTW my CBB is lowered by taking leaves out of the rear springs. That softened the ride to more of my liking. With the 2 clarance mods I no linger have the caliper contact.

The cables are specific to the year and vin number, wrong cable. ??? I have done two where the sheath square thing at the front where it mounts to the tunnel did not match. I had to drill a new hole for it.

Hmm, that's interesting. I'll investigate that before I cut.
