Low mileage. Original engine and mostly original interior. The paint is still very nice, smooth and glossy. Very presentable, especially for a black car.

Amazingly original Mk1 Midget !! IMHO this has the best colour combination of black with red upholstery. Are you going to bring it back to factory spec. ?

Eventually, I would like to bring it back to factory specs for the most part. The only non original things as far as I can tell are, the Monza exhaust, the Minilite wheels, the modern steering wheel and the aftermarket amp and temp gauges that the PO added. The temp part of the dual gauge quit working, and rather than buy a new one, they put one under the dash. Oh, the fuel pump has been converted to electric too. When we bought it I was amazed at how unaltered it is. It still has the fabric wrapping around the wiring harness, admittedly, a bit frayed in places.

If you want to you can contact me off-line at:
jolka{STONES}planet{NO FISH}nl
(replace the "stones" by AT and the "no fish" by DOT).
I've almost finished the restoration of my 1963 Midget and maybe I can help you locating some parts and documentation for this unique sportscar.
Best wishes,
Nick

Beautiful car. The red top was the perfect choice IMHO!

My 1st car, at 16 years of age in 1968, was a black 1963 MG Midget. I wish I still had that car. I loved the smallness, the handling, the very simplicity of the Midget, no exterior door handle, slide windows, choke with a push button starter, a cloth top that you took off with frame and stored in the trunk. Every now and then, I search for images of the car on the internet. I currently drive a Toyota MR2 Spyder, which is a great car, but I would love to have a '63 midget.

Go for it Bob. Get yourself another one. You'll not regret it. They are even more fun when you're old enough to really appreciate them......;^)

Beautiful, You are an inspiration. I'm not fond of the look of the original front bumper. I think your making me feel like it's ok to have it the way you want it.
