One of my MG joys is my YA MGF. It was purchased in Melbourne by a gentleman for his daughter's 21st birthday. It is a 1950 model and it is totally original except for the paint! It originally was the metallic green but after a year the young lady thought it was a touch too "gauche" for her and the car was repainted in the very dark green - darker than the YB in this article. It does not get much use and has only covered 87,000 miles. It has the centrally placed battery which proves it is an export model. Another interesting "feature" is the switch in the right rear mudguard to turn on the taillights. That was a registration condition in Victoria in those days - they did not trust the switch on the dash it seems! Anyway, it is a dear old lady and Y Types have gathered favour considerably in Australia over the last few years. Best wishes to all.
