“SLEEPER---WORKS MODIFIED/SOLD”
Amazing Garage /Barnfind: SURVIVOR QUALITY -WORKS COMPETITION HEAD
1951 MG TD
--HAS--RARE PERIOD RACING ALLOY LAYSTALL LUCAS HEAD is off the car, along with TWO 1 1/2 SU Carburetors and Manifold.
SLEEPILY STORED IN 1968- Just before the Moon Landing of July 1969, 4 years after the Beatles came to America (1964), Top song was Hey Jude, Minimum Wage was $1.60, Lava Lamp Patent was permitted, McDonalds Big Mac was $.49, The Civil Rights Act as well as the Youth Culture Exploded with Force!
THATS THE TIMELINE.
Needs either a Sensitive Mechanical Restoration for a OR FULL RESTORATION Its very cool tho!
Has 48,000 miles, engine +.020,
Engine is seized from sitting,
$$ BONUS SHORT BLOCK WITH NEW +.060 pistons, new flywheel and clutch assembly.
A LAYSTALL HEAD AND +60 BLOCK IS THE PERFECT WINNING RACE COMBINATION
The Laystall alloy head is very rare and I believe Laystall supplied the works competition dept. the Laystall Head adds and additional 30% horsepower according to what I have read.
Its all there including weather gear , only one wheel is frozen.
TD is very solid, almost unbelievable condition.
Clear title is still in NYS registration written in as they did in 1951.
-has full weather gear
Thanks for looking.
