Elva folks,
I’ve owned my Courier since 2006, 10039L, converted to a race car, RHD, 1622 Eng. original 1955 gearbox, Later Morris rear end, GT6 front brakes, drum rear. I got my license at VSCDA, 2008, joined the national vintage license, raced at Gingermann, Grattan, Mid Ohio, Elkhart Lake, Road Atlanta, New Jersey Motorsports park, and IMS. My car is yellow with green accent and raced under VSCDA, HRG, and SVRA banner. I started at age 65,my budget was my SS check, receiving my license in ‘08 and raced until I was 75, when my physical warranty ran out. The car was disassembled for annual upgrades and check of all systems in 2020 and is still apart. I’m hoping to get it back together this year and will be put up for sale then. New fire bottle and seat belts in 2016. For an old guy I did fairly well, eliminating all mechanical failures in each new season. Personally, I think it would be a great starter vintage car for someone. I think some of you might remember me and the car.
The reason the car hasn’t been seen or driven, is the medical issues I had, which at my age is probably the main reason for a forced retirement. Gary knows the car, as some of the other Courier owners might remember me. I will try and keep up with posts from time to time and will post a couple of photos when I get home from our winter vacation in FLA.
