Hello,

Does anyone know who may have made the headlight rings on my Courier 10/14/L? Mine are missing.

Thanks!

Dave

Dave,
I think the headlamps were just borrowed from the MGA, like a few other parts on the Courier. At least my Mk 3 Trojan appears to be MGA. Moss and other suppliers carry them. Originally probably Lucas manufacture, but anything today is likely to be reproduction.
Hope this helps.

Dave,
Mine appear to be from a TR3, but 100/104R is a race car, and so I have no idea if they are original to the car. The differences between TR3, MGA and MGB are pretty subtle and I suspect Elva (like so many others) skipped around depending on supplier availability.

Hey Dave,
What headlamp components do you have or are you missing? Are you going for originality or functionality? There are buckets with two or three adjuster screws. The front and rear rings that clamp the bulb need to match the bucket. The outer trim rings vary a little in shape and how they attach to the clamping ring assembly. On 10/4/L the outer ring snapped over the inner ring at the top and was held at the bottom by an oval head sheet metal screw that screws into a tab at the bottom of the inner ring. There’s a 3/8”-1/2” hole in the fiberglass underneath the screw to allow access with a screwdriver from beneath.
As Jake mentioned Father Frank probably shopped what was available and after 65 years how many Couriers retain all of their original parts.

Here are the ones on my car. They appear to be very similar to the ones on my TR3.
